Battle Lake?
Curious how its been doing?. I havent fished it for over 10 years. Used to be good for a nice walleye slay.

Well considering its C&R with no tags I'm not sure how much slaying you are going to do. Right now I'd say there is pretty good odds on big whitefish with Wetaskiwins or wedding bells.

Pretty good odds of thin ice this early in many places on Battle lake too. Lots of springs around the lake.

Battle is good in the summer but it’s a tough fish in the winter.

Is Battle still good for Walleye size (as opposed to large numbers of dinks)? I've never been, but we're thinking of taking the boat out there next weekend...

Go try it and let us know. 😉 used to be nice walleye in there. Been netted for weeks at a time during the winter, only one way to find out.

Walleye are few and far between, nothing of any size. Netting went on all winter again.

seems like there isn't a very good launch there, which is lame. I'm still new to launching/loading my boat, so I'm not taking any chances anywhere there isn't a really good concrete launch.

This lake gets netted every year, unfortunately.

Nets are in already, they stay in all winter.

Been there a couple times this year. Lots of 2 lb pike and picking up the odd chunky walleye. Fish right up on the pencil reeds.

Battle
Fished Battle a few times last summer. Boat launch is not great. Have to back in quite a ways to launch medium size (17') boat.. Good to have 4wd! Lots of small pike although I am sure there are some bigger ones to be had. Walleye are scarce and you really have to move around to find them. BUT there are some nice size ones to be had! Caught several in the 4-5 lb range and I believe there are likely some bigger ones to be had. Will be back next summer!!!

Owners get too much Christmas spirit in them, then forget they put nets in.

I was just out recently and not much action for half day. Saw one pike in the area where I was.

I wrecked my boat and trailer there (nothing major) one ding/scratch in the boat because of the steel on the dock as it was a brutal choppy day and my trailer cross rail dinged up as I had to 4x4 my way in and out and over a giant hump ......... worst boat launch of any lakes in the area.
Anything over 16ft and you might be working.
No 4x4 - You might launch but good luck recovering.
Other than that, lot's of dink pike, the odd really nice walleye.
