Default hummingbirds

make sure your feeders are topped up because it will be pretty chilly for the next few days. those little critters will be needing more than their usual daily calorie requirement just to stay warm.

Good advice. I just topped it up yesterday but didn’t even think about the cooler weather

We are topped up but, are you guys seeing many? Normally, we have enjoyed a solid population at our place. I’ve seen a grand total of one, for all of 30 seconds. Their arrival is usually timed in unison with sub adult Purple Martins and I have some of them. Maybe they are still yet to come.

Honeyberries are the first blossoms which have nectar. I had a number, or one really fast one in many places, when my honeyberries were blooming.

But it is a cold and wet spring so far. No harm in helping these wonders of nature out.

We have had hummingbirds for 3 weeks now. Seems awful early but they seem hungry as we are on our second fill of the feeder already

This is only our second June here, so I can't compare to previous years. So far I have only seen one at the feeder at a time... since they don't wear name tags, I don't know if we have more than one around the yard.
