I have seen that pic before and I don't know if it has been photo shopped or not but my ex father in law used to talk about a fellow that had a team of moose (the ones in the Athabasca picture perhaps) They were orphan twin calves that he had raised and trained. Unfortunately they died after they got into and ate some frozen potatoes.
So even if that picture is not real, it has been done.

Hey, we had a guy in Sundre, Russ Greenwood, before my time, who was famous for harnessing moose and buffalo

I've seen numerous pics over the years, and well before the internet, of documented instances where moose were harnessed.
the Swedes apparantly had tested them in a Cavalry application as well.

My mother had pictures of a couple moose harnessed up to an old sleigh. The gentleman lived south east of Long Island lake North of Westlock. He litterly ran them to death one night coming home from the Dapp Tap (Dapp Hotel). He found then dead still in the harness's when he woke up the next day.
