RIP Merle.
We had the pleasure of listening to his Son Marty at last year's Cowboy Festival at the David Thompson Resort. He put on a real top drawer show and we really enjoyed some of the stories he told about his Father and growing up as a kid with the likes of Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash and other notables that worked with his Dad. Quite an experience for a kid to grow up with.
I believe the performance Merle did at the Sheep Convention would have been one of his lasts.

RIP regret that I never went to one of his concert here in cowtown.

RIP Merle, another real country singer gone. Hopefully we have a revival of real country music because what they play on the radio right now isn't it.

73 Ford pick up, side of the lake with fire, friends, sweetheart, and the Hagg, on the 8 track. Big part of who I am. Bring out the 18 year old tonight. R.I.P. my life long companion.

Had the pleasure of seeing Merle and the Strangers on two occasions.
Allison Brock did a great interview with the Hagg.
Part 4 is pretty gritty - his deep hatred and disrespect for authority because of his jail time still comes out.
Take time to listen:

This is only low res so dont bother with full screen (theatre mode looks not too bad). Its a documentary I saw on PBS a few years ago...

PS: If you add the lights out extension to your browser it makes it more watchable.
