We have found 18 so far. We have walked only a couple hours a night for about 5 or 6 evenings. Hoping the snow melts off so we can get back to walking this weekend.

Here are mine from the year so far, I have some cool history with a few of them. This is almost my favorite part about hunting whitetails. i really enjoy seeing them grow and configure there horns.

here is "king" this is his left antler from 2 years ago and here is his right side from 3 years ago his g2 is 12.5"

and here is an old buck that died a few years ago. I found the left one 2 years ago and today i finally matched it up! almost a mile away!

and today i found a nice 5 side,

Here is another buck I found a few weeks ago and posted it on the wrong thread. One thing I have noticed about the deer in my spot, they are heavy long tined but lack enough points to score well. and main beams are short too.

did you find them in a field or in the bush? every shed i find seems to be in that first 100 yards of the bush that parellels the field edge.

Default My March sheds

Since I doubt I will get out before the end of the month again...I thought I would post my shed pile. There is over 50+ in this pile. Not really a ton of matches and all deer sheds...So hopefully April will bring the matches and some elk sheds!!!

Default Question

Wow great sheds! I have only found two - ever. Which leads me to wonder, what happens to all the sheds out there. Obviously a very small percentage are found I'm sure. What happens to all the rest? Do they get covered in soil? Rodents can't eat them, just nibble, so how come we arent tripping over them, especially in the bush?
I walk many miles in the fall, in places where I know nobody has been the past 12 months. What up with no sheds?
Any thoughts from experienced shed hunters?
kidd

Had a fantastic March! Found 8 more yesterday. That put us at 28 sheds found in March and we still have a few places to check yet. Here is a pic of the 28 we have found so far. There are 8 pairs and 17 of the 28 are from this year. Whitetailman, I just learned how to post pics this week. Go to photobucket and put your pics on there. Click on the picture and click on IMG and hit copy. Then click on paste for your AO post. You have to have two windows open to do this. Hope that helps!
