Default Sheep activity in hot wet weather.

Just wondered what folks have seen in the rams this year in scouting or past years with the kind of weather we been having? Are they more likely to be in the trees or higher up since they don't have to go down for water?

I don't think I've noticed any change in movement over the years due to a wetter or dryer summer. I have noticed they tend move to different areas based on day to day conditions, especially days of rain/foggy weather or days with tons of biting insects.

I imagine in dry climates where water is scarce, sheep movements would change due to wetter weather and availability of water.

I wouldn't consider this to be a hot summer
Weather, bugs, predators, pressure move sheep around

I hope everyone enjoys the gong show that is sheep opener

x2 Not even fun any more, almost like one of those 5 AM openings at Best Buy, for cheap electronics.

Our group is also holding off for the opener this year. We generally do not see many good rams in August.

Always figure the best hunting is at the end of the season, specially if winter comes early and hard.

Best time for me has been Mid Sept till Mid October. Half the guys have given up and started elk hunting and a lot of the rest don't like the frosty mornings in a tent....
