Default Another hit piece against BC sports fishery

https://www.thestar.com/vancouver/20...xtinction.html

Looks like if you’re fishing close to the river mouth you can count on being rode up on and questioned by the FN “fish guardians”. Laughable that you can stretch nets across the river and then point and shriek at the rest of us over at-risk stocks

Sooooo, the non-native people are helping get "their" fish up the fraser, but arent allowed to fish them?

Its funny, than anyone can put on an "official" looking uniform, but still have absolutely zero authority to do anything. Unless they have DFO, BC Conservation Service, or RCMP. I dont think Id be letting them come along-side or disturb my day of fishing.
I dont believe these records go back to the DFO, so this "data" is just for them to give to their lawyers to fight against the recreational fisheries. I dont think Id be saying too much.

This pendulum of sympathy has reached its point for some people, and it may start swinging back the other way

If they wanted to do something to increase the salmon numbers they would stop FN from netting and start whacking a pile of seals

We were there sturgeon fishing while the locals were netting the river
They were constantly hauling fish to the banks to be trucked off and sold on the side of the highway

You must be mistaken; the "Stewards of the Land" only harvest what they require for sustenance and ceremonial purposes.
