Has anyone found any 410 shells larger than 7.5 or 6 ? I can’t find number 4 or 5 anywhere

I just picked up a box of Challenger 3", #4's at Cabela`s Edmonton southside store yesterday. They had quite a few boxes left.

Man I can’t even tell you the last time I saw anything but a 12g and 20g. Believe it or not here in Montana Walmart had been the best place to find anything outside of 12/20. You could find 28 and 410 but that was over a year ago now. I think finding ammo foe this hunting season this year is gunna be tough!

On a couple US hunting/prepping forums I see the same comments. Funny how in Canada you can still pretty much find anything you need. Primers and powder were scarce for a spell but obtainable if you looked hard.

As per the OP original question, yes. I just picked up some 410 in #5 shot at Bass Pro YYC north. Also picked up a bunch of 16 gauge.

Walmarts here have stopped selling ammo now.

I have no use for shot size larger than #6 in a 410 or my 28 gauge, but I always buy my sub gauge shotshells by the flat, so I never run short. It probably won't help you this fall, but check with someone like Prophet River, about ordering a flat.

Walmart here have stopped selling ammo now.
One thing that has come into major stock of late is .223/556, 9mm and 7.62x51. I'm guessing since there was such a rush on it, manufacturers finally got caught up and shipped. Down side is the price they are asking is insane. I'm not paying 750$/1000 FMJ223, or 560$ for 1000 FMJ9mm.

Most hunting shops I visit have very limited selection in only the most random calibers. Can't even find Corelokt or Federal Blue Box in .243, 3006, 308, 270, 7mag, 300 win mag etc... Some premium ammo in more exotic calibers but even that is sparse on brand and bullet weight. Glad I reload. Just finished up loading another 50 rounds of Accubonds for my .308. Should be good for the next 2 seasons, including practice.

Try your local Canadian Tire. In Leduc, the stock wasn’t updated online and they had quite a bit of ammunition. Not sure about 410 though.

Default Found some

Barton’s just got some #4 Winchester in, 42 boxes, I bought 2 should last me a while, maybe I should go buy some more though lol, my gun doesn’t like the challenger ones the brass is thicker they swell some when you shoot them and it won’t eject them out, only brand that I have issues with, should just sell it and hunt with the 22 or buy a 20 gauge

For ground swatting grouse, gauge doesn't matter, just shoot high, and you won't mess up the breast. If you are using a 410, using #7-1/2 gives you a denser pattern for head shots.

#9 2 1/2 " works under 20 yards.I never use anything larger than #6 shot in the .410 and preferably with short shells for better patterns.3" seems to string patterns.

X2! I also always used #6 shot in 2-1/2” shells when I hunted with the .410, it worked pretty good. My son is now using the same with good results.

That’s why when I am out and about if I come across things I may need but don’t really need I pick them up....a little stock pile never hurts.

I have a box of Federal 3 inch #4 11/16 shot I would be happy to sell you as I sold my 410 shotgun and forgot to give the purchaser the shells. Any fair price is OK. I am user "tawney123 403-278-0877.

Neerlandia CO-OP had them a couple weeks ago. Fairly good selection then.
