Guy's are breaking through with trucks:

I wouldn't drive on. I was fishing by Fallis a few days ago and the ice was junk. Enough for my skidoo, but not much more than that unfortunately.

Was out quite a few times every time atleast 5 guys on the ice with trucks. Not sure how they are now with the warm front.

it depends where you want to go, I was at the cabin all weekend and went out sledding.

south seba, ten trucks no issues at all

town site is good...don't drive under the bridge

east ramp from south seba (sorry mind is blank ...pre coffee) stay off two trucks through the ice right at the ramp

boat ramp in town of seba, sled accessible only and is in great shape

boat dock south seba, lots of water, and slush about 18" deep

Disclaimer. This photo was generously provided by Axeman. I think it's important that people see the results of lack of precaution on ice. With a winter like this I'm surprised we don't have more incidents like these. Play it safe out there kids....

We need more pics of trucks through the ice!

We need a "hall of shame" thread!

Thanks for the ice report!

I was driving to Carson this morning listening to the radio and the guy who owns this truck called in , he had just got approved for financing at a gross interest rate and this was his first ice fishing trip of the year. He did say that his insurance is covering the truck and that environmental agency is head hunting him

Yeah I heard that on Sonic 102.9 this morning when that guy called in and talked to Garner Andrews. It was a brand new Tacoma... that should not happen in mid January.

Sent an email to my insurance provider this am and received a written response "YES" I'm covered for a breakthrough with only one disclaimer ..... If the lake is posted "dangerous / unsafe ice conditions".

That was a pleasant surprise.

My coverage includes loss AND recovery but does not cover any environmental fines which she said - were not usual or significant in the dozen or so cases she has dealt with.
