Default Nobody watched Barrett Jackson?

Hmm. I thought someone would have either been to, or watched the Barrett Jackson auction last week.

I was going to telephone bid on the 1966 L88 Vette, but once it hit 3 million, I decided that a 300 year car loan would be a little out of my league.

Some very cool stuff went this year. As some of you know I have a 1971 LS 5 454 vette. Well a 1971 LS 6 454 vette (of which only 188 were made) went for 495,000.00. That sale will bring the price of all C-3's between 1968 and 1971 up a fair bit. Anybody lookin for a nice 71.... Price is a little higher than it was last Friday.

Nice to see some charity vehicles went real high. Gene Simmons custom truck got 1/2 mil and is going to the hospital in Saskatoon.

Anyway, did anyone here make it down and did you make a purchase?

Haven't been in a few years. But always watch it on the tube. I was licking my chops at that vette too. I'd have to sell everything I own and only have the 100 year payment plan.

Hmm, a 1966 with a L88? Thought the L88 made its debut in the 1967 model year?

If the 1966 is getting that kind of dough, then my dream of a 67 with a L88 is going to require my numbers to come in first or maybe I can find a 69 Camaro with the LS1 option cheap!

My dad went down, but just wandered the viewing. He keeps saying he is going to buy something, but it hasn't happened yet.

Gene Simmons had nothing to do with that custom truck other than being a semi-celebrity married to a once popular model/actress who a long time ago lived in Saskatoon for a few years. Good on them for donating their time but that is the extent of their involvement. He was there only to promote the truck/charity for Barrett/Jackson. The truck was built and paid for by various local buisinesses and individual volunteers. Ghost transport, a local trucking outfit hauled the frame and most parts in for no cost to the project. Nice to see that amount of money for the future children's hospital that is being built and badly needed.
