Gun was proofed in 1963. As you know it is a 54 action with double set triggers and a medium sporter barrel. Model number was 1416, thought they came in a few different configurations under the same model. It sold for 76 bucks with the double set triggers, a 20 dollar option, back in the day. The recoil pad is not original. They are a great gun, shoot wonderfully and are perfectly balanced as a hunting rifle.

Given the stock shape and the mounting of the sling swivels,it would appear to be a rifle bought in Germany and brought back to Canada. This was very common back then as many Canadian soldiers posted oversees bought Euro guns at the PX and brought them back when they came back to Canada. A Crown grade Husqvarna in 308 could be had for $54 in 1963, so it tells you what a premium the Anschutz was selling for, even way back then.

Just for parts, this gun is worth significant dollars, as a whole rifle in great shape, it would be VERY hard to replace.

Thank's for that info! Yes it shoots a nice group! But will have to try some good ammo! This was shot at 50yds, 5 round each! with cheap federal ammo!
