Well I hate to be the bearer of bad news but that is a real crappy zone for moose! The zone starts near Alstones and that's where the Kootenay plains Wildlife sanctuary starts. The sanctuary runs all the way to the west end of the zone at the park boundary. On top of that you have the kootenay plains ecological reserve (also no hunting) and the stoney indian land. Plus the public land use zone (no ATV's), and also I've only ever seen one moose in the zone and that was about 15 yrs ago in the sanctuary near Thompson creek. Lake Abraham is difficult to cross, then you hit the Ecological reserve and then the Siffleur Wilderness area. I think your only chance would be in the old cuts on the south side of the North Sask River accross from Wildhorse creek. You will need a jet boat or be proficient with a canoe. Make sure you're in good shape as you'll have to pack that sucker out on foot if you get one. On the plus side the area is beautiful, great camping, some sheep and some whitetails!
