Default Ol Boy still loves shooting

Though some of you might appreciate this ..
A ol buddie shot this group at 500 yards with his home made gun, using a RKS Barrel from here in Alberta.. 6.5
Keep in mind this is a 5 shot group and measures less the .75" ..
he has a bit of heart trouble and is kinda worn out but his Doc. tells him to keep doing what he is doing.....
He is 87yrs young and loves the sport of shooting..

Thumbs up

Wow, that's just awesome. Good to see a fella at his age still able to go out for some trigger time. A lot of fellas at that age have the desire, but can't do it physically any more.

BIG TIME high five from me as well!!
Not only do some have the desire but that is a group that no average gunner can do, even at HALF the old guy's age!!
SST, tell him from one "6.5 looney " to another a fine congratulations from someone ALMOST HALF his age - well, okay , about 60% of his age!
What case was he using ?

Well Cat!
I cant go into a lot of his secret details ..He'd kill me for sure... but it starts out as a 6.5-284..... he does a lot of things to the case as far a prep..
He an I, are kinda gun nutz and we share a passion for building things in our garage. This particular gun the only part of it that was store bought was the screws.. He builds his own actions, mounts, rings, stocks. He has sold his rifling machine this past year and now uses Ron's barrels but all of his guns are quite honestly home built.... I tease him about buying scopes..
I keep pickin his brain .... but he is dam careful about lettin the cat outta the Bag
No pun intended

If gramps will loan him his machines, I would be willing to bet that the old guy
is a bit more accomplished than your everyday hack!!
He sounds about as impressive as old Ron himself ( of whose barrels I use for my 6.5 projects)
I should know him, but can't place his name - no matter it is an honour just to see a pic of that group and elk!!
