Like Really!!!!.... I did not not intend to start a -ve thread...but I have been in comms at a high level and I was really taken abck by banks I think it was intersecting her lived experience...like that is comms 101 no! no!...it is like a counsellor saying I know what u r feeling ... the games and opening ceremonies where amazing except for one individuals intersecting her lived experience wherever she could on CBC .... different faiths get their respective nicks in a twist easily... but come one...the French even poked fun at themselves...best opening I have ever seen and I expect the closing ceremonies to be over the top as only the French can do with their global history and culture...PS ...I am not French ...so pls stop trying to take or create a high road where none exists...go with the flow, embrace, enjoy, take off your lenses of reference everyone and let it be....also, the most amazing olympic.caldron ever imagined to.date..
Peace out brothers and sisters

The olympics has a positive affect on some of our young people
Early this morning I saw more of the younger generation out running more than usual.
Give them a goal to try and reach trying one of the olympic sports
Beats hiding in the back alley smoking that stinky stuff

Love watching the athletes!! So cool when an underdog creeps up and wins an event. Been a summer highlight to watch the games since I was a kid.
Men & Women's artistic gymnastics along with the track and field events are my favourite to watch. But I try to catch a bit of everything.
The serving posture for table tennis is such a funny thing. I only watched a bit, so much stop and start.
Volleyball is a lot of stop and start too but the men's volleyball germany vs japan game was really fun to watch!!

That was an amazing come back by the women's soccer team. Regardless of anything that happened off the pitch that was a fun game to watch and an amazing go ahead goal.

Yeah they had to win, a tie or a loss would send them packing.
Good on them!!

Two olympians grew up on my street and I saw how much time and effort went into training for gold and silver. Nothing but respect for these young athletes.

air rifle should be exciting especially if they use the new scoring system where you can see if it is a 10.1 or a 10.7

Not sure if I want to be in a triathlon- swimming in Sienna River somehow doesn’t appeal to me at all! They are actually cancelled today’s swim due to unsafe water conditions…. When I was there 15 years ago- we saw a bunch of fat rats swimming there!

The equestrian xc event was pretty amazing - takes place at Versailles. Beautiful course, big jumps and extraordinary talent.
Wish I was there to see it.

Summer can swim.
I don't like any judged event but like all the rest. Women's 7's rugby is awesome, some of them ladies hit harder than Elks.

I can't believe anybody would risk swimming in the Seine... Even the emergency dive teams there consider it toxic! Wow...
Still interesting to see it all though! I hope Canada shows well.

I actually watched several minutes of judo, and was extremely disappointed. The Canadian won the gold medal, but it seemed like the entire match was her opponent trying one unsuccessful attack after another , and losing on penalties. Gold medal or not, judo isn't something that I will be watching in the future.

For sure ! The whole country should be proud of Summer. The American hung with her for a while in the 400 Medley but coming home she blew them all away. Way to go Summer !

IncrediGirl used to play rugby... So impressive. She could stop a running opponent in her tracks and plant her in the ground.
I got cocky with her once, and found myself flying through the air. Her mom and aunt, who were watching us goofing around, well, their jaws just dropped.
Respect!

I have watched the Olympics and thoroughly enjoyed them. Canadians did well against other world athletes from some countries who sponsor them. I admit I am partial to some events over others like Archery, Air Gun, Swim, and Judo, but it's great viewing.
