Skunk question
Does anyone know of a remedy to make skunks relocate?
A friend says he has one in their crawl space. Lots of dogs and cats on the acreage so live trapping only.
I was hoping for a recipe that won't stink up the house but the skunk will find unpleasant, grasping at straws here.

We used to just use your basic square trap. My dad used to put leftovers for bait.

Skunks
I’ve been told that if you leave a radio playing quietly by their entrance that they will not go back in? I’ve never tried it myself but it’s worth an attempt?

Mothballs, broken glass, bleach... make the spot unpleasant for skunks.

Rags soaked in ammonia with wife tells people she owns a pest control company or live trap.

Ammonium Hydroxide should work as already mentioned. Hunter friend of mine swore by it to keep grizzly out of hunting camp.
PS a good dog will make sure they stay away but will get sprayed a few times!

You already mentioned the best method, live trapping.
Use jam or eggs to keep the cats from going in the trap.

On the other hand, they make the best mousers, don’t annoy them and they’ll be fine. They get along good with cats. Dogs, not so much. If you live trap, if it’s a momma with babies, what happens to the babies?

I trap skunks with these. Because it’s enclosed they typically don’t spray.....at least it’s never happened to me. On sale now for a great price. I use dry dog food for bait. A little at the front leading into the trap and a bunch behind the trigger works well.

Skin those fur skunks this fall, winter and spring! Skunks likely bring as high as $30.00 this sale!!! could even go a little higher...
BUT I SHORE HOPE NOT!!! 😉
That's more than beaver... way easier task to put up.
If they stink, throw in a black muck bottom crick for a couple days before skinning. Maybe add some gas later? Tell us your de-scent secrets

May have to get one Dave.
Was headed to the shop & an adult was just outside the main gate.
I also did some fencing & "something" dug under it.
Fill the hole & next morning it is dug up again.
I have several open wire type live traps.....but DO NOTwant to capture a Skunk in one

1 bottle (900ml or whatever they come in) peroxide 1/4 cup of baking soda and a squirt of dish soap. 👌🏽 Works for me I put up 20-50 a year and the wife hasn’t killed me yet hahaha

so a buddy once told me that his grandma use to set alarm clocks in the shed or underneath to go off at various times...apparently they don't enjoy the noise and bugger off.....might **** off the neighbours if they are close but better than the stench....

My wife uses a skunk solution/recipe she got from (I think) Pete Wise.
The wire traps work great, adults remain calm if you move slow. The little ones are another matter, they get excited easy and spray all over.
The plastic traps work great too but I caught a black and white feral cat once, it didn't end well for the cat so I put clear plastic windows in them to make identification easier. The skunk population is doing very well all over it seems.

Scatter a bunch of moth balls in the crawl space. Burns their eyes so they leave and stay away.
