.........five year olds!
We hosted the youngest Shrub's b-day party today, and Mrs Tree decided to invite the ENTIRE pre-school class. Then, they ALL showed up!
Everyone arrived promptly (if not early) to gleefully drop of their little 'darlings' and gain a couple hours of freedom. Parental facial expressions ranged from grateful, to sympathetic. All the time I was wondering what the expression on MY face was.
Mrs Tree was in 'game mode'. The ultimate hostess with the mostess. Calm, confident and handling the situation like a battle proven general. I however did my best to put on a brave face, smile-n-nod, seem calm, all the while knowing full well that terror was forcing my testicles to receed northward......
If you've ever had a stare down with a grizzly in the wild, you'll know of what I speak. Now picture it over a full two and a half hours!
Fortunately, the weather held and we managed to contain the situation to the back yard, and not the house.....whew!
My God! If scientists could ever figure out a way to harness that level of energy (exponentially beyond that of lightening), there'd NEVER be any wars or oil spills again.
On the bright side, everyone was very interested in the litenay of sheds in the yard and the mounts on the wall coming in, so there was a bit of PR opportunity there. As for the magpie trap..............different story.
Just wanna give a big congrats to Mrs Tree for offically becoming my hero today, and a very happy b-day to my wee angel. Luv ya kid!
