You mean a leader like Trudeau, or Jagmeet Singh? Leaders like that, that obviously have Canada's best interest at heart? Or do you mean Elizabeth May? Max Bernier? It can't be the Bloc leader, so which one are you suggesting has Canada's best interest as their motivation?
I'll wait.

Have you been paying attention for the past several years?
You've summed up the liberal and liberal-NDP coalition governments in two sentences without even knowing it.

Interesting that the Public Safety Officer (Dominic - I can cover up Liberal mistakes - LeBlanc) says he will not release the names of parliamentarians named in the NSICOP report while holding back over 1000 pages of information on election interference --- yet Elizabeth May says there is nothing to see here move along.
Now Jagmeet is out saying that if any of his lemmings are involved he would kick them out.
Seems like the pointy end of the stick is headed to the red end of the scale.
Now if people do not see anything wrong with this and the need to have someone in a leadership role being able to openly question the underhandedness of what this government is doing on election interference then .........

Ah, the NSICOP report. The claim from the media and the unredacted report says there was much wrong doing up to and including treason by MPs and Senators. Then Elizabeth May reads it and says nothing to see here and all is well. Trudeau and Dominic LeBlanc doing double duty to hide and sweep the report under the rug. Then look at the members of the NSICOP Committee themselves led by Liberal David McGuinty.
Ask yourself, do you trust any of these people? That's what I thought.
You can view the redacted report here, knowing full well that that Dominic Leblanc removed all the incriminating stuff:
https://nsicop-cpsnr.ca/reports/rp-2.../intro-en.html
Page 67 has the claims that the media was seizing on.

Anytime a politician meets with Trudeau or Liberals insiders and comes away from it saying everything is fine. You know a deal was made to purchase their support.
Brace yourselves for Senator May of UN ambassador May.

Elizabeth may talking is like the teacher on Charlie Brown to me. When she said nothing to see here, I thought go back to sleep ya old bag.
Then I see Jugheads presser yesterday and he is saying the sky is falling on this issue. One reporter lady was sure grilling him on why he keeps propping up the libs etc. Deer in the headlights look, then back to the message totally ignoring her question. Now he says he was a target, when pressed, he could not say more due to the restrictions on him.....Uggh.
He just needed to get in front of the cameras again and try to look important, looked more like the fool he is.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that no Conservatives are implicated... Otherwise the CBC (aka the Ministry of Truth) would be beating it to death.

I wouldn't be so sure.
Many of those in the report are probably "un-wittingly" doing what they do.
Not all the Conservatives are conservatives, not all the Liberals are liberals and so on.
There's a lot of opportunists in every political party, they don't really care what the policy is as long as they benefit from their position.
So I would not be surprised if there were also Conservatives in that report.
At the end of the day they are all politicians and their main, and most of the times only purpose is to be re-elected so that they can keep benefiting.

The media has been strangely quiet about one aspect of the NSICOP report, and that is how Canadian media have also been complicit in election interference. Huh. Go figure, the also don't want light shone on their participation in helping to interfere in elections.

That big golden retirement pension in ~14 months. He sure had a lot to say but he never once mentioned that he himself is wanted criminal (Terrorism I believe) in his country of origin (India). So is that why he was a "Targeted??. He did try to call out the Conservatives every chance he got, never worked, but he tried.
