If you'd like to use a suppressor than by all means do so. You use safety glasses (outside of upland) and ear plugs while hunting?
I use muffs at the range. Hunting? For the 1-4 shots taken each year I don't really care. Don't notice it at all outside of a range with a covered shooting area. The one or two times I've forgotten to pull the muffs back into place, theres definitely that wonderful ringing sensation that I'd rather not repeat. Never experienced that ringing once while hunting.
I doubt very much that I'm damaging my hearing one iota. City noise day to day likely does a lot more damage.
