I've bought 3 or 4 bows off of archery talk. All but 1 were as advertised. The other had more wear on it than I was expecting it to. I have also sold 2 on archery talk and have not had any problems, either way.
As others have mentioned, you really have to watch shipping costs, current exchange rates and absolutely do not courier stuff across the border so as to avoid "heavy" brokerage fees.
It's always best to purchase face to face, and if you can't but have a friend close to where the bow is with some technical knowledge that can look at it, then even that may help from being surprised.
