Sorry to hear about your dog. Iv'e had it happen more then once, (or Twice).
Funny thing, you'd think they would learn from thier first encounter, but no, they just drive in face first the next time they meet one.
Sounds like you got off lucky this time with just a few quills to pull. Could have been a huge mess and expensive vet bill's.
It can happen to the smartest dog.
