Get a membership at Sally's Beauty supply and get the 40 volume bleach developer to use as the whitening agent after the simmer. Its about 18% peroxide, works really well and is WAY cheaper than the 35% stuff you can buy. I myself use a little paint brush to paint it on but you can thin it out at bit and spray it too.
