You need to be educated on the topic yourself, expect no one to be looking out for your interests unless their stake in it is the same as yours, and they themselves have no other stake in it. From my experience, any other group that has a personal stake will compromise on your interests to preserve their own.

I think the point is that these groups are not some seperate entity or the enemy, they are a groups comprised of guys just like you and me.....you know, more voices working for a common goal. It's not a case of us and them. They are us.......... Yes, their stake in it is the same as mine, in fact I'm part of that stake through my membership in these groups. I voted for the people representing me and from what I've seen, they are doing a darned fine job. I feel lucky to have these hard working, dedicated volunteers at these meetings with SRD on my behalf.
