Just updating the deals we got at the fall harvest sale at Heritage Park, a 50lb bag of red potatoes was $20, a flat of 10 whole pineapples was $8, a bag of 3 romaine lettuce was $1, a flat of live butter lettuce was $4 for a flat of 12, bags of BC prune plums were $2 each, 3 x 3lb bags of carrots for $5, entire flats of tomatoes on the vine from RedHat for $10, a flat of strawberries (8 tubs) for $10, corn on the cob @ 25 cents each (can't recall the price for a whole sack). There's more but you get the picture. Some people leaving there had such vast quantities they must have been restaurateurs (10 flats of tomatoes, etc)

The sale continues tomorrow... We made two trips to our vehicle with a dolly that converts to a flat cart. I think the first trip back had over 120lbs (50lbs of potatoes making up a good part of that). 2nd trip was perhaps only 50lbs.

Bring a cart and be ready to make all manner of preserves! We usually split some of the haul with family as some items in large quantities would go to waste otherwise as you can't freeze lettuce.

The place was hectic but no vendors were lined up. The nice part is that sale proceeds support local charities so its a win/win.
