I am not worried about the whole team, but goal tending has been a definite issue at both ends of the rink. What I mean by that is that in addition to Talbot sucking, it seems the opposition goalies are playing lights out. Even in our win, Smith was unreal. Ward had his best game in years and Vancouver and Winnipeg goalie's were both coming off embarrassing losses played excellent against the Oilers.
Also it seems our defense is having lapses and I feel we should have pushed for a top 3 d-man in the off season like Calgary did. Especially knowing that Sekera was out for 2-3 months. We are a young team that can afford to deal off a few future draft picks. If we tighten up the defense and Talbot battles through this, the wins will start coming. Only 5 game into the season, so I not ruling out the playoffs quite yet but thanks for your compassionate concern  |
