UPDATE: Ran around town a bit with the gas cap loose. Seemed better, but still iffy. Going on the bad gas theory, I dumped half a can of Seafoam into it and topped up with Octane 94 again.
Two days later, I headed out hunting to the same place again It's only 85km from home. Was -15c. The area requires 4x4, and there is a section of road that is quite rutted. The stalling issue returned with a vengeance. Was honestly concerned about getting out. Since then, on pavement, it's recovered to occasionally hinting it wants to stall, but doesn't.
Thinking the rough conditions are stirring up crap in the tank and potentially causing fuel pump intake problems.
Going to change out the fuel filter and do an autopsy on it.
I will get it into a shop maybe in the new year. I haven't worked much this year, so have to watch the budget a bit with Christmas coming.
