I used an equinox excalibur cross bow, shot it at 47 yards, as others have mention, they are tough as nails, I waited for the boar to step forward to expose the vital areas, and poked the bolt behind the front leg. There was almost an inch of gristle, like armour plating!.
The boar took off on a death run after the shot for about 100 yards, and stopped when it collided with a big popular tree!
