Although that is in the relm of the possible, I don't believe that the US Govt would intervene by propping up a recreational firearms manufacturer. For one it's bad optics and second, as already stated, the Rem name could be bought for cents on the $ by some other weapons manufacturer and third, let the market go where it may go without government interference.
