We used one or two old spark plugs as the weights. They don't tangle and they don't cost anything. We also put 10' of line on and a notch in the bottom of the rail or used the built in hook some had on the decoy so you could tie your rope at what ever length you wanted, just tie a large loop in the string. You can also use line locks for fast and easy length adjustment.
