I put 4 coats of clear coat on and it’s tougher than crap, I just did a crappy job when I dipped it as it was my first one and I tried useing a Rubbermaid tube that wasn’t quit big enough. The other ones I’ve done turned out much better, I just couldn’t find the pictures I took of them. I did this one about 6 years ago and use the gun lots every year in and out of a saddle scabbard and the clear coat has held up good. Someday I’ll sand it off and re dip it..
