For a non-magnum, burning less than 60 grains of powder with moderate recoil, moderate velocity and a well placed shot with a good heavy bullet, the .338-06, .35 Whelen or the 9.3 x 62 have to be top contenders for an ideal sub-350 yd Large Game cartridge... at least as close to "ideal" as there is. Where do they fall short ? I'm seriously curious.
