The Norinco's function just fine, they sometimes lack some fit & finish. They are a good inexpensive pistol. However, one thing to note, the 1911's can be upgraded with all kinds of aftermarket parts, but I am not sure if the rest of the Norinco lineup can be. I have heard (rumour, as I have never owned) the hipower clone for example, does not take all hipower parts without gunsmithing.
It might also be worth looking for a used cz to save a few bucks.
