I have a differing point of view.

Portability for us means anywhere we wander can be set up for range work (yes, with all the safety conditions adhered to). That alone is very worthwhile.

Chose your ground well you are setting up on, and these shooting benches are much more stable than most understand.

We use them a LOT for shooting our crossbows out here.
And the bench is more than stable enough to allow us to produce consistent bullseyes at 100 yards. You simply cannot produce those results from a non-stable platform period.

So, in short, for their price point, they are indeed a serious piece of equipment. Myself, and several of my Buddies will never be without one.
