I totally hear you there. I'm not trying to come across as some super angler but I've been fortunate enough to catch some decent bass, a few trout around 20", a couple King salmon in the 25-30 lb range, some smallish tuna offshore, not to mention quite a few nice walleye... and I've never got as stoked about any fish the way I do when a nice 40" plus pike starts peeling line!
About the only fishing I enjoy anywhere near pike fishing is catching bluegill and sunfish. Odd combination I know, but something about never quite knowing whats grabbed your worm when that bobber slips under the water...
