For me, I used to get gas at Costco quite often. Until multiple stories, and first hand experience of it taking out engines, the automatic fuel management systems on Chev/GM in particular. Something about the additives they use or don't use. Since making the switch, I've run cleaner as evidenced by the better fuel mileage and spending less on fuel. Not much, but I see it. Everybody will have different experiences however. But as far as diesel goes, at least right now, Costco not having it doesnt seem like a big deal.

The gas Costco sells has DCA - the same additive that co-op, Safeway, Superstore, Domo, Canadian Tire and countless other non- branded stations use. It's the same additive esso uses - only esso uses more of it.
Costco may have ethanol in their regular though.
