I had the pleasure/ miss pleasure lol of shooting a wood stocked ak 47 last year and managed only one mag dump as the 762x39 whacked me in my cheek on recoil so hard I ended up having to lift my head entirely off the stock.

I have noticed similar things with stock design. Some feel like less recoil simply because of design
