What ever you decide will work just fine. Cartridge gets way over talked. There is the solid 30 cals 30-06, 308, 30-30,. The 7mm's the 08 and the 280 or the euro versions, throw the 270 in this group as well. The 6.5''s 260, the creedmore, 55 Swede, 57. And if your interested in shooting coyotes from a distance as deer with the same rifle the 243, 25-06 fills that roll quite nice. Then the varmint cartridges, and everything in between.
I will give 2 pieces of advice first is buy used. That way when you think you want to try something else (and you proubably will) you can sell for the same or more money. And I'd personally stay away from the magnums, unless your target is consistantly game over 400y.
One more thing dry fire the hell out of what ever you buy and get a nice rimfire CZ to go with it.
