Coyotes are looking REAL good!

Like the other state auctions this was a mixed bag of Eastern, Semi and Heavy Western fur. Unlike the NAFA auction, fur isn’t sorted by grade. Trappers put their own fur in specific lots. That means that one Trapper’s lot of fur averaged US$146.22 ($194.29 CD). There’s no doubt in my mind that they were Western Heavies. There was a seller from Lethbridge and one from Pincher Creek. I wonder if it was one of them.

Without knowing the size/quality of the beaver pelts, the average looks pretty darned good. Red Fox had a good average too imo. Both sold at 100% so here’s hoping that there’s interest in them again. Muskrat......Meh.

For you Marten Trappers.......those prices are for semi heavy and not the heavies that you’re trapping. You should get much more at the FHA auction if you sent them there.

The FHA auction should be interesting.
