I was told years ago by a guy who worked at a big box retailer that Vortex offer's some sort of incentive program for selling their scopes. You earn points for products if I recall correctly. I do not know if they still do this but I have gone to some of these retailers and looked at Nikon scopes only to have salesman try and talk me out of one and into Vortex, yes, even out of L.'s too. At the end of the day, you have to be happy with what you got so they eye test is the best way.
