Good 'ol gun.
There are many great callibers to suit the full range of big game in North America. There are callibers that out perform the 30-06 for long range shots.
However I love my Remington 30-06 spring. It turned 60 years old this year and has served three generations of hunters in my family and soon will be four. The steel but plate is worn almost smooth. This year I changed over from loading 165 gr SPBT's to 150 gr TTSX's and the TTSX's hit harder. My sentimental vote is for the 30-06.
