Another Vote for the 280 here, will do everything the 7mm rem mag will do with less powder and non belted. 7mm RM is a great round also though.
I will Always have my 30-06 in my safe though, the ability to load up a a 110gr to 225gr bullet is what I like about them, and the ability to walk into any Canadian tire/Hardware store and there is ammo
