This year was my year for hunting. I took my first deer, a hefty doe, at 304 yards with my .243 loaded with good ol' 100 grn Winchester Super X. Two weeks later I took my first Buck with my modified SKS and one of those Hornady 123 grn SSTs. But I am not voting for either of these calibers. I am voting for the .300 Win Mag, which I bought to hunt with this year but was unable to get in enough practice with it. My bottom line though, is that the best all around cartridge would be the one that you feel the most comfortable about shooting...and shooting well.
