We use to use a 22cal when fishing for Halibut. Use it to kill them prior to bringing into the boat so they would destroy everything thrashing around.
As we got older and drank more beer we decided guns, beer, halibut and us didnt go along very well

The truth is the 22 got so rusty one weekend we couldnt use it any more. Yes it was cleaned and oiled. It was a rough weekend.
Biggest thing is do not shoot seals, walrus or other prot3c4ed animals.
