I was simply suggesting that a firearm is not the best tool to use for self defense. You'll be in a much more unpleasant situation from the legal perspective if you were to shoot an intruder. Using a knife can be much more efficient in close quarters than a long barreled firearm.
I think that you meant "thinking things
