If you had to chose which one would you buy? Older or newer?

Wood stock has never been a big thing for me in a bolt rifle. In a lever, ok.
Both the older and newer Tikkas are excellent rifles. Mine are all easily sub MOA shooters.
Either way you will be happy.
Parts for an older Tikka might be an issue if something goes wrong.
