I'll be out there this weekend in the wife's jeep Cherokee. The snow isn't that deep but it is definitely crusted on top. Weight and tires are important. Don't expect to make it far on a set of mud tires in a diesel. As far as finding 18 inches that's not even a concern for a passenger vehicle. I'd drive a fully loaded 1 ton diesel welding truck on that and not think twice.
