Well, I'm a traveling gopher-shooter...but heading back to AB this coming spring.
My main gopher gun is a CZ452 Varmint shooting CCI Blazer 22 I run through the Waltz Hollow-point die. Time consuming, but YES...hollow points make a remarkable difference. The CCI Blazer is an OK gopher slayer as is...but devastating when a gaping hollow point is added. Here is is in a spot I sat for nearly an hour...plugging away as fast as I could load the mags;
Typical, post-impact effect of these HPs on gophers. They're a "Bang/flop" proposition 99% of the time ;
The 22 I'm playing with allot these days...and could come along for the ride in 2019
;
I've spent most of my time putting match-grade ammo through this gun @ 50 yards...but am ordering some high-grade faster stuff to test out too. I haven't put much HV ammo through it all to be honest. Fun shooter, and crazy accurate.
