My expiernce with vanish fluorcarbon has been on the postive as i have been usuing it close to ten years and being that it is invisable in light conditions my catch rates have inproved 20 to 30 percent over mono filament line....i have had very limited breaking as i change my tippet(i only use it as tippet on my fly line) quite often as i find the line frays quite easy from the fish's teeth and if i am fishing brookies or browns i even change more often...i look at for the little bit of hassle of changing tippet often but improving fish numbers i will take it..........i always fish these lakes with #8 test as it is supose to be invisable so i have no problem with that high of line thickness........i find that your leader should be around 8 or 9 feet if it gets shorter then the fly line spooks them.
