Interesting pattern. I have never fished them. My go to emerger pattern is a soft hackle loop emerger.
So what type of parasol emergers did you buy? I can see this pattern should imiate bugs that congregate just beneath the surface film before emerging such as chironomids, some caddis and other bugs (cripples perhaps) that can't easily break the surface tension. I suspect it would be best fished in flat water.
This fly might be the ticket for those lake whitefish rising on those calm warm summer nights.
