We caught some really nice, healthy walleye on the south side near Aspen last year. A few over 5-6 lbs actually.

We set up (right on the dropping slope) significantly deeper than we usually do, on the second steep slope that goes into 20+ feet of water.

My best lure seemed to be the bigger Lindy rattlin' flyers and small rapala rattlin' raps.

I most cases they come in, have a look, and you have drop your lure into the mud/sand and gently stir up some silt and they will grab it.

Otherwise, most of the walleye in there seem to be quite a bit smarter compared to other lakes - don't know why - they just seem a little harder to entice.

Give that a try. Works for us.
