Also, if anyone is telling you that bears, blacks or grizzlys, will not attack you, unless provoked, ask them to prove it. I have read too many incidents to believe that for one second. Let alone to bet my life on it. Give bears tons of respect and take all precautions you can. If you are lucky, the bears will never attack unprovoked. If you are unlucky you may encounter one that never read that rule.
